When I check the connection in Vista it claims that there is no internet connection. I do not have a problem accessing using an XP computer on the same line. Has anyone heard of this? Is there a work around? Something short of setting up a dual boot system with XP (HP claims this would void my warranty).

The one item you may have problems with, if you have a POTS internet connection, is the [win]modem. If you have a high-speed connection with a router you should have no problems. it have something to do with your dual boot setup? I seem to recall warnings that XP and Vista wouldn't coexist nicely... I don't think so but I'm not sure. The main exception is my home network (internet connection is fine). My Vista and XP machines do not see each other (they do when both booted to XP).

Vista is certainly available as an upgrade - of course, that would replace your current MCE installation... If you wanted to dual boot, VPC should certainly be able to use your host's USB Internet connection - not sure about the printer, though I'd have thought it quite likely if it were shared as a network
